Howard the Duck has been getting a lot of attention on the comics side lately and he's a fun character so he fits. If there really won't be X-men or Fantastic Four characters in then Gwenpool can take the Deadpool slot, since she is a version of Gwen Stacey with Deadpool's powers and insanity. Winter Soldier sounds like Nova mixed reading Caps lines, WS sounds exactly like Gamora, and If I closed my eyes and listened to the trailer before playing it I would have assumed 3 different Spider-Man villains before Venom.A post on Shoryuken mentioned that Lupinko is saying that these characters will also be in the game (rumor so take it with a grain or mountain of salt): Still not a fan of the command grabs but he doesn't look like he relies on them so much.Īll the voices though are a little disappointing. Despite his awful voice, Venom's animations look pretty good, and he seems interesting. She strikes me as another Jill cool concept on paper, but rendered useless by the game system. I like that Widow is more focused on martial arts and set-ups, but I fear for her effectiveness if she relies overtly on grab resets, given the comparative uselssness of grabs in this game. Winter Soldier looks like a more rush-down oriented Chris, which feels like a bit of a lazy concept. Like, they got it right in the year 2001 on the Playstation 1, how do you fuck up Venom in 2017? This Venom sounds more like Carnage, shrill and hysterical. He's a huge pile of muscle and grit under that suit. Venom's voice is usually portrayed as way deeper. Not only are the actual lines just the height of poorly delivered cheese, his voice is just wrong. Anyone hoping that Capcom were saving their good stuff for the DLC can proceed to be sorely disappointed. Winter Soldier sounds like he straight up got Chris and Cap's left over voice lines, and his voice is extremely generic. It feels like at least one of her lines is just straight up lifted from Gamora. Black Widow sounds like all the other bland female characters in this game.
